Cindy Schultz, ME.d.
My name is Cindy Schultz and I am the Business & Technology Department Chair at Sentinel High School. I have been teaching for over fifteen years with twelve of them at Sentinel High School. I have a master's degree in Technology in Education and an Administrative License. I am the lead Web Design Instructor and Content Developer for the Montana Digital Academy, a Flat Classroom Certified Instructor and an Adobe Education Leader. I received the Adobe Education Leader Impact Award in May 2014. Prior to teaching, I worked in the manufacturing, legal and medical fields. I serve on the Montana Educators' Credit Union board and MCAT (Missoula Community Access Television) board. Students must be either a junior or senior to take the dual credit courses. Students that take all four of these dual credit courses (12 credits), will be well on their way to earning a Media Arts Minor from the University of Montana. They will need to complete 9 additional credits that support their work and development in Media Arts in order to receive a Minor in Media Arts. I teach the basics of design in all of my classes along with several of industry standard computer software programs, such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Flash, Premiere Pro and After Effects. Students also take the practiceAdobe Certified Associate (ACA) exams as part of their class requirements. All of my classes are taught in an online format using Moodle but are face-to-face classes, included the dual credit courses. The Sentinel Design Studio is a student run organization that serves MCPS and the Missoula Community with print, web and video services. The purpose of this group is dual faceted: to offer real-world, hands on training for Sentinel’s best and brightest in design, as well as offer their talents and skills to the community. For more information, check out the Sentinel Design Studio website. I encourage students, parents and the community to contact me with any questions, concerns or contributions they might have regarding the classes that I teach. I am always looking for community members in the fields that I teach to come into my classes and talk with my students and/or create community partnerships. The best way to get a hold of me is through e-mail at [email protected]. You can also reach me by phone at (406) 728-2400, ext. 7093. Be sure to check to my schedule to see when I might have time available to talk with you.
